Late January 2010
Dear wine friends,
I hope by now your new year is well on its way. Planning, calendars, and compliance have occupied our month, and while I like warm toes in front of a fire, I'm ready to trade the spinning numbers in my head for the cold, busy hands (racking, blending, and bottling) that February brings. February also ushers in our annual Library Sale, a Valentine's weekend tasting, and our own little stimulus — a 'six bottles for the price of five' offer.

Library Sale
The month kicks off with our Fifth Annual Library Sale. Over the past ten years we've quietly stored away a few cases from each vintage so that, pulled from your cellar or purchased from ours, you could experience the power and beauty of aged Pinot Noir. We like to think that our winemaking might be the genesis of community — to friends gathered around a table with opened bottles, to evenings that end with "we should get together more often."
The sale runs February 1–15, or until the alloted wine is gone. Print and fax the (order form, email Linda (linda@jkcarriere.com) and she'll follow up, or call her at 877-817-9722, ext 2.
Note: Ground shipments are weather-dependent; we are happy to hold for decent weather or to accommodate your schedule.
The Vertical Box
Comprised of a J.K. Carriere Willamette Valley Pinot noir from six consecutive vintages, we are offering our 2010 Vertical Tasting Box. $300. No substitutions, please.
2002 WV Pinot noir - best vintage, massive without acting massive
2003 WV Pinot noir - balance at the huge end of the spectrum
2004 WV Pinot noir - smooth and expressive, and always there
2005 WV Pinot noir - dark, classic, elegant, drinking wonderfully
2006 WV Pinot noir - ripe, complex, age-worthy ... What's not to love?
2007 WV Pinot noir - classic, beautiful, substantial, made for the table
Open the door a little wider
In addition to the vertical box, we are releasing a few cases of the following (limit three bottles each).
1999 WV Pinot noir, $75 - our first vintage, ridiculously complex
2000 WV Pinot noir, $65 - staggeringly youthful on linear acid
2001 WV Pinot noir, $60 - at its zenith, complex, ready to drink
2002 Provocateur Pinot, $45 - best vintage, an aged bargain
2002 Antoinette WV Pinot noir, $110 - best wine we've made, still climbing
