Ours is focused winemaking of classically structured, ageable, high-acid, smooth-tannin Pinot noir. Nuance, movement and grace are the goal. Small production – 2600 cases for the 2006 vintage – allows owner/winemaker Jim Prosser to make the highest quality wine on a barrel-by-barrel basis.
Established in 1999, the winery is nestled in a working hazelnut orchard in Yamhill County, Oregon. The winery's name is a combination of Jim's grandfathers' names and represents a covenant he holds with their integrity. A wasp features prominently on the label because it has twice nearly killed him.
J.K. Carriere wines are available in wine shops, fine dining establishments and specialty markets in twelve states, as well as directly through the winery.
The winery is open to the public for Oregon's traditional Thanksgiving and Memorial Day weekend open houses. We’ll be taking tasting appointments on the second and fourth Saturdays of each summer month (10:30 am, 12 pm, 2 pm), and scheduling appointment on other days as time permits.
